Umbra Illuminated
Feb 6-7 & 13-14, 6–10 PM
A larger than life lampshade inviting reflection, wonder, and quiet togetherness.
The intention behind this piece is to explore the ways in which light and shadow interact. Not only in the physical world, but also to reflect on their significance in the inner world of our hearts and minds.
We hope this piece serves as a reminder that light requires shadow to create beauty—each one is meaningless without the contrast of the other. It is an expression of the duality of existence.
Sarah Meyer and her partner, Brandon Shaw are Portland based artists who enjoy creating liminal spaces with reused and recycled materials. They are members of the Portal Arts Collective and can often be found working on art installations at local and regional events.
