Local Business Lights Up Portland

One of the things that makes the Portland Winter Light Festival truly unlike any other event in Portland is that at it’s core, it is supported by and for the community. Every February, the Festival lights up our city with art, connection and a renewed sense of joy during the darkest nights of the year. The event would not be possible without the generosity of our small business community, and this season, we’re especially grateful to Neighborhood Works Realty for stepping forward with a $5,000 matching gift to kick off our end-of-year giving campaign!

“From the moment I first experienced the Light Festival—running downtown and along the Eastbank Esplanade when the Festival was at OMSI and it was snowing—to see all the people out and about and enjoying the art and the lights but also the sense of community on a cold evening in February was really inspiring! It is also a really fun event that makes people happy and honestly, infusing joy into a dreary evening is probably the most useful thing we can do”

End-Of-Year Matching Gift

From November 18th – December 31st, Neighborhood Works Realty will generously match all year-end gifts to the Willamette Light Brigade and its Portland Winter Light Festival program, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, doubling your impact in keeping Portland glowing bright this winter.

Neighborhood Works is a small, locally owned Portland business that is all about building community and connections and deeply understands the power of light, both literal and symbolic, to strengthen community. Their support reflects the spirit that fuels the Festival: when neighbors, artists and local businesses come together, we can transform the city in beautiful, unexpected ways. “There are so many great non-profits that need our money, but giving to the Light Festival promotes such a sense of pride in our city and gets people out and to experience Portland as the friendly, quirky, funky, arty, and SAFE place to live that I know it to be. It invokes pride in Portlanders and wows out-of-towners who have never experienced a joyful place like Portland,” said Jarrett.

We’re also honored to celebrate Jarrett’s warmth, enthusiasm and unwavering belief in the Festival’s mission. Her energy is contagious, and her service helps ensure that the Portland Winter Light Festival continues to thrive and grow as a free, accessible and inspiring event for everyone.

Small Businesses, Big Impact: Keeping Portland Glowing

The impact of small businesses like Neighborhood Works reaches far beyond sponsorship. It helps light up our streets, support local artists and foster civic pride across Portland. Their commitment reminds us that this Festival belongs to all of us, and that even the smallest acts of support can make our city shine a little brighter!

“I’m a pretty positive person and most of my clients have commented that I bring humor and joy into my business which can be really stressful, so I have seen and felt firsthand how important that aspect of life is, especially now. When I mention to any of my clients, colleagues, neighbors that I am a Board member of the light festival – everyone’s reaction is the same:  Oh – I LOVE the Winter Light Festival!  and Thank You!!”

Thank you, Neighborhood Works Realty, for helping us keep Portland glowing.
