Onward and Outward
Feb 6-7 & 13-14, 6–10 PM
Onward and Outward affirms a universe where growth, change, and expansion are constant, and where every ending feeds into another beginning.
Walt Whitman’s quote “All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses…” was the inspiration for this art installation. With nearly 2,000 LEDs, the sculpture undulates in a cyclical motion that mirrors the author’s belief that every apparent ending is merely a shift into a new state. Nothing truly disappears; it becomes part of a larger, ongoing process.
Visitors are encouraged to consider their own place within this unending flow. Just as the LEDs never truly extinguish but shift into new formations, so do the moments, relationships, and experiences in our lives. The sculpture, in its ceaseless pulse, offers a visual reminder of this truth: that every transformation is part of a larger, evolving whole.
