Las Estrellas
Feb 6-14, 6–10 PM
Las Estrellas shine with flickering and sparkling light like stars in the night sky.
Las Estrellas was inspired by the traditional Mexican pinatas that feature three or seven-pointed stars and found hanging above places people gather at the winter holidays. These iconic shapes are blended with the forms found in the colorful southern Italian lighting displays called Luminaries. Both archetypal symbols of their regions celebrate the spirit of festivity, joy and community.
This year’s PDXWLF theme asks how can one memory set you on a path to the future? Our response is – Las Estrellas.
