LED Furniture

Feb 6-7 & 11 – 14, 6–10 PM, Fri/Sat till midnight

These LED floor panel surfaced benches and tables are designed to be unfamiliar in a familiar form, using some of the newest tech in a simple way.

The initial design was born out of necessity. The broken asphalt courtyard at the entrance to Pickathon 2025 was not conducive to the level surface requirements of these Planar donated LED floor panels. Volunteer Pickathon carpenters built benches to house them. They were an immediate hit. At the Tiny Interactive Media Museum we’ve expanded on the design to now include several smaller individual seats or tables, and a larger table meant for communal gathering.

The furniture catches your attention quickly. It’s simple construction from untreated lumber sits in juxtaposition to the technology it supports. The video collages moving across the pieces carry several messages, not initially apparent. We invite you to sit awhile and rest.
