Batucada is famously displayed during Rio de Janeiro’s carnaval celebration, where 300 drummers will parade together, representing their school or neighborhood. In Portland, Bloco Alegria showcases diverse rhythms and breaks from Rio, Salvador, and unique innovations.

Portland’s longest running samba bateria, Bloco is found at parades, city celebrations, galas,and nightclubs! With a band of guitars, cavaco, and vocals for stage shows.
