Step into Heron’s Embrace by Portal Arts Collective, a stunning sculpture that provides light in the darkness and shelter from the elements. A reminder of resilience and adaptation, this piece is the latest contribution from Portal Arts Collective, who have been an integral part of the Portland Winter Light Festival since its inception. Their work is woven into the very fabric of the event, bringing imaginative and thought-provoking art to our community year after year.

Created by Julia Alora and the Portal Arts team, Heron’s Embrace uses recycled materials like ethically-sourced bone, junkyard steel, and found objects to craft a powerful reflection on our connection to nature and the balance of light and shadow within ourselves. Don’t miss this captivating installation!

The countdown is on—just two months until the Portland Winter Light Festival returns from February 7–15, 2025!
