Perspective
Feb 6-14, 6–10 PM
A visual essay on relative perspective, or ‘big things that appear small and small things that appear big, and other stuff’.
Our perspective shapes how we see and understand our world, and each of us has a different perspective, based on our personal history and the perspectives of those who are close to us.
For years I photographed things that are often overlooked- shadows, reflections, juxtapositions of textures and forms (detritus in the tideline of a beach, stains and cracks in concrete, or the scraped side of a barge). When framed in a particular way, these can be compelling images.
For several years now I have been working in video, shooting images on my iPhone and layering and processing the images into moving tapestries of light and form.
