Illoominated 2

Illoominated 2 weaves threads of laser light in a tribute to the first programmer, Ada Lovelace, and the hidden connection between looms and computers

What would a divine machine that weaves more than a tapestry, but perhaps the fabric of creation, look like? The concept of Illoominated 2 combines the Simulation Hypothesis, which suggests reality exists because it’s being calculated on a higher plane of existence, with the Universal Turing Machine, a hypothetical model of a computer that can simulate any conceivable program.

In the early 1800s the lineage of the computer advanced significantly with the patent of the Jacquard loom, a machine that mechanically stored data and used punch cards to program various patterns. However, the true potential of the computer wasn’t realized until the groundbreaking work of the brilliant Ada Lovelace, who conceived of the first algorithms.
