Chasing Rainbows
Feb 2-27, 7 AM–2 AM
Peer into a kaleidoscopic portal to Portland’s smallest park!
Originally designed and installed at Mill Ends Park for the 2025 Portland Winter Light Festival, Chasing Rainbows shines a light on 80 years of miniature mischief.
In 1946, journalist Dick Fagan gazed out his office window and envisioned a leprechaun colony inhabiting a hole meant for a utility pole. His whimsy sparked a newspaper column, a Portland Park designation, a Guinness World Record and decades of lore. Despite its humble footprint (452 square inches!), the legend of Mill Ends Park continues to grow year after year.
Now located at The Sentinel, Chasing Rainbows provides a portal to Mill Ends Park. Peer in and transport yourself! There is an infinite treasure within, hidden in plain sight. Can you see the unseeable?
