Lamina

Our piece is called “Lamina” because it is a collection of plant leaves made from light. In plants, “lamina” is another word for the thin surface of the leaf blade. While the typical plant’s lamina absorb light for photosynthesis, ours do the opposite, instead emitting light from the glowing veins of the leaf. We view these types of deciduous leaves as a beautiful symbolic concept because they represent necessary change.
