DATES: Just the Weekends
(Feb 3-4 & Feb 10-11)
Perhaps you met our luminary Lady parading to Pioneer Square at last year’s Portland Winter Light Festival. She was born as a collaborative statement on housing equity for all Portlanders, by local artist collectives R.A.W.R. and PuppetRegime.
The Lady puppet, built by Puppet Regime artists Gary Patrick Harvey and Sasha Erickson is a 10 foot tall papier-mâché spectacle that glows from within as she gently gazes across the city and it’s inhabitants. In her arms and at her feet are lanterns depicting an array of domiciles existing within the city of Portland, all built by R.A.W.R. collective and local volunteers.
The luminary is inspired by Portland’s own Lady Portlandia sculpture by artist Raymond Kaskey.
