Light Experiment #7
media: Photo transparency paper in lightbox.

Description: Light Experiment #7 was created by the gradual process of exposing photo paper to very dim light over the course of 30 days. The transparency paper was intentionally rolled up and placed in a darkroom where tiny amounts of light slowly penetrated the layers creating streaks of color. The remnant of a time scale vastly slower than our eyes take in the world as a means of celebrating the magic of photography as well as our limited and subjective experience of reality.

About the Artist: Lanning Shields is a photographer from Seattle WA., where he earned a BFA in photography from the University of Washington in 2007. He currently resides in Portland OR where he works in the commercial photo industry.
